Overview

Theatre is the art of storytelling on stage. We tell stories for many reasons; to entertain, to educate, to bring attention to important issues, to express ourselves, to make sense of the world around us, and because it’s fun. 

In drama class, you will learn techniques for effective storytelling through live theatre. You will learn the principle of objective based acting, to behave truthfully on stage. You will learn the basics of improv, including “yes and”, creating a platform, and character work. You will learn fundamentals of theatre tech, including lighting, costume, and set design. “All the world’s a stage- all the men and women, merely players.”
