Longmont High Students Find Financial Success in Colorado Stock Market Challenge

Congratulations to Longmont High School students Jenna Moore, Hallie Bergner, and Nutsuree Banjerdsin for coming in 3rd place at the Colorado Stock Market Challenge on November 6th. They earned over $400,000 in capital gains during the competition. The competition gave students the opportunity to apply lessons from their Introduction to Business class taught by Jamey DeWitt.

Students from 42 Colorado high schools converged to compete at the 2014 JA (Junior Achievement) Stock Market Challenge, presented by Great-West Financial. Each school was allowed to bring 40 students grouped into six teams.  The JA Stock Market Challenge is a live stock market simulation game, featuring teams of students who compete to see who can grow their initial $500,000 investment into the largest net worth “mock” stock portfolio.
