Bio

Darryl Abrahamson has been teaching at Longmont High

School for 22 years now. His ensembles consistently

receive Superior ratings at State and National festivals and

perform at numerous events throughout the state. He also

teaches privately and several of his students have made

All-State Bands, Orchestras, and Jazz Ensembles, and

have received scholarships at several universities

throughout the state and country. He also has an

extensive performance career and has played trumpet on

five recordings that have been nominated for Grammy

Awards. He was also nominated for a Grammy Teaching

Award in 2019. He has performed with Chris Daniels for

the past 27 years, touring the country and Europe. He was

inducted into the Colorado Music Hall of Fame in 2017. He

has performed with Garth Brooks, Vince Gill, Amy Grant,

Johnny Swim, John Oates (Hall & Oates), Ken Passarelli,

Brandford Marsalis, and Gordon Goodwin amongst others.

He is also the featured trumpet soloist with the Denver

Broncos Stampede Drumline.
