Kevin Ortiz, one of Longmont High’s very talented Music Technology students, has been selected as the recipient of the The University of Colorado at Denver’s Summer Music Industry Program. This intensive program will run from June 15-27 with an instructional focus on Performance, Song Writing, Music Business, and Recording Arts. Instructors consist of UCD faculty, as well as several active industry professionals such as, DJ Chonz, Tia Fuller (saxophonist for Beyonce), and Andy Guerrero (guitarist from the widely popular Denver based band “Flobots”). DJ Chonz, the creator of the scholarship for the program, along with Victoria Vanest, the coordinator for the CU Denver Summer Music Industry Program, personally came to Longmont High on Thursday, April 24th to present Kevin Ortiz with a full scholarship.
