China is an immense and vibrant country with more than 5,000 years of history. Chinese is the most widely spoken language in the world. China has the 3rd largest economy and is the 2nd largest trading partner of the United States. Learning Chinese has become important and popular in American schools. Many high schools offer Chinese programs as an advanced curricular experience that requires an application process. SVVSD makes Chinese available to all students without extra requirements. Learning the Chinese language and culture will open your eyes to view the world differently and gain insights and understanding of this ever-changing world. A Chinese program can create many open doors for all young people like you. Now you have the privilege to receive this valuable gift from our district. Chinese level 1 class will be offered at Longmont High School in the fall of 2014. Levels 2 and 3 will be offered in the following years. Don’t miss out on this great opportunity. Check with your Counselor about this new class, or bring your questions on Trojan Photo Day and meet the new Chinese teacher.
