Congratulations to the MBSA class of 2016!

Eight seniors at Longmont High School successfully completed their senior internships in the Medical & BioScience Academy (MBSA) this year. The internships were in a variety of fields including veterinary medicine, radiology, chemistry research, emergency medicine, and cardiology.

This month, St. Vrain Valley Schools launches approximately 2,000 outstanding graduates into their future. Two LHS Teachers Reach Quarterfinals for the Grammy Music Educator Award

Darryl Abrahamson and David Merrill are among 290 National Quarterfinalists selected from a pool of 3,300 nominees for the Grammy Music Educator Award.

I Teach Because...

Think back to when you were a student, back-to-school shopping, finding your classroom, and the exciting lessons that would soon fill your day. The first day of school jitters that were calmed by the friendly, welcoming face, and celebrating the “ah ha” moments when you finally figured out how to solve the problem. Then there was the time in kindergarten, when you went to the restroom but couldn’t remember the way back to your classroom. As panic set in, that friendly face walked around the corner and they knew exactly where your classroom was.

Longmont High School Drumline makes World Championship semifinals

The Longmont High School Drumline advanced to the World Championships semifinals in Dayton, Ohio, after finishing third in its group of 15 in Thursday's preliminary competition.

The top four in each of the four groups moved on to the semifinals, which take place on Friday. The finals follow on the same day.

Brandon Staple accepted to prestigious Emperor Science Award Program

Brandon Staple is one of 100 students (out of 1200 applicants) in the country who received an Emperor Science Award this year. He will be spending several weeks this summer working alongside a cancer researcher on a research project.
