The continued safety, well-being, and success of our students, teachers, staff, and community has always been our top priority as we navigate the complex and evolving coronavirus crisis. To that end, our comprehensive task force has outlined a school reopening plan that includes a return to full-time in-person instruction for students in grades PK-5, 6, and 9, and an alternating schedule with a combination of in-person and synchronous real-time online learning for students in grades 7-8 and 10-12.

I got my BA from the University of Colorado, Boulder (GO BUFFS!!) in an individually structured major titled, “The Tradition and Non-Tradition Women’s Leadership Roles and Principles,” and my MA is from Denver University in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Urban Education and Teaching Socially and Linguistically Diverse Populations. One day I will earn my PhD and hopefully open up a school and write books about my heroes and sheroes- my students and our experiences.
I lived in Denver and taught for 6 wonderful years at Northglenn High School in the Adams 12 5 Star School District in conjunction with the Boettcher Teachers Program. A few years ago I returned to my roots, to Longmont and the GREAT St. Vrain Valley, to teach at Niwot High School. Upon hearing about an opening at LHS, I jumped at the chance to come home to the pIace that shaped me. As a 2000 Longmont High School graduate myself, I know that to come back to the great Trojan Dome is the best job and opportunity I could ever imagine; I am blessed to work at the best high school in Colorado.
I am also certified to teach ESL and Social Studies, but my heart belongs to literature and the study of language, stories, and people who tell them.
Born and raised in Longmont, I have always felt a deep love for this community and the people within it. I love my family, my friends, my sports, and my causes, and to return home and give back to the place and people that have given me so much is an honor.
