Philosophy I

What is the meaning of life? Interested in the role religion has played in man's history? Troubled by concepts of what is right and wrong? Should we allow people to die when they wish? Do you know if you are a liberal or conservative? What did Descartes mean when he said, "I think, therefore, I am"? Want to explore how other people think about ideas like duty, love, death, courage? This elective course will include these and other philosophical issues. Students will be involved in discussions, writing exercises, and special projects to display what they have learned.
