Forensic Science

This laboratory science course is designed for students who are interested in forensic science. In this course students gain experience in the major investigative techniques currently used by forensic scientists and crime scene investigators, and develop an understanding of the scientific concepts which serve as the basis for these techniques. Students will use scientific processes and critical thinking skills to analyze physical evidence through hands-on labs, activities and case study readings. Some of the topics to be covered include: crime scene documentation, forensic serology, bloodstain pattern analysis, fingerprinting, document examination and forensic DNA analysis techniques.
