Debate/Forensics

Students may take Forensics more than once, first, for .5 English credits and, thereafter, for general elective credit (this is a two semester class and students are encouraged to register for both semesters). This course is designed for students who want todevelop their potential in competitive public speaking. Options for students include oral interpretation, debate, extemporaneous speaking, student congress, and original oratory. These units emphasize critical thinking skills, research writing, and persuasive speaking. *Students are required to compete on the school’s Forensics Team in events sanctioned by the Colorado High School Activities Association.
